Artist Tim MacDonald honors the tradition of the great illustrators with his vivid portrayal of a moment symbolic of Edison's greatest innovation, the Invention Factory. MacDonald combines images from different times during Edison's most productive years, while honoring a request repeated by Edison several times in his later years: "Too much honor has been bestowed upon me, and too little upon my closest assistants. Without their aid, I would have been tormented and hampered and delayed by details for attending to which I have no earthly fitness.
